Jun 21, 2007 @ 09:30 am by Healthy Me

In our previous post, we took a look at the role of antioxidants and thier presence in diets rich in a variety of fruits and vegetables. Maintaining the right diet however should almost always be paired with regular exercise and supplements.

Exercise

A regular exercise training program can help you burn calories and prevent obesity which in some cases is related to aging related diseases like cancer, heart disease and diabetes. The proper training program should include exercises to promote the optimal use of oxygen in the body, increase muscle strength and endurance and improve the body’s flexibility. Simple exercises like walking, stationary biking, mild weight training, yoga and stretching can help slow down the aging process.

Supplements and Solutions

Food supplements and various skin care solutions have also been known to slow down the signs of aging and prevent diseases associated with aging. This is because supplements and solutions, especially those that have natural ingredients, also contain antioxidant vitamins and minerals. Vitamins A, C and E are popular ingredients in anti-aging solutions.

Aside from these known antioxidants, a variety of natural products now also contain various natural substances that also help slow down aging. Among these substances are hyaluronic acid and L-carnitine.
