Aside from watching what we put inside our mouths, there are also other ways to help boost energy, stamina and mental alertness.
Sleep
Getting enough sleep is crucial to keep yourself alert everyday. You should be careful however not to fall into the trap of common sleep myths. Forcing yourself to sleep eight hours a night for example may make you even less energetic. Not everyone needs eight hours of sleep because human beings are unique from each other. You may therefore do well with just sleeping lesser hours. What is important is discovering the amount of sleep that you need and making sure that you get that amount of sleep.
Exercise
It may seem unusual that exercising can also make you feel energetic. You naturally feel tired after your regular exercise routine but in the long run, exercise can help improve your stamina. Aerobic exercises for example can help your cells breathe better by improving the oxygen supply in hard to reach body cells. Muscle exercises will also help prevent feelings of exhaustion in muscle related daily activities like lifting the groceries. Physical activities also stimulate the release of endorphins which are the body’s natural uppers.
Supplements
Aside from maintaining the right diet, you also need to take some food supplements. This is because there are some minerals like magnesium which are difficult to find in different foods. There are also some food items that may trigger allergic reactions or disorders in individuals. People with celiac disease for example cannot process the gluten in wheat foods and may even hamper the absorption of other nutrients. Supplements provide us with the energy giving vitamins and minerals that we miss in our diet. Click here to read more…

The stress of modern life often gets the best out of us. Normally, feeling tired is a sign that your body is taking more than it can bear. There are times however when our apparent lack of energy, vigor and mental alertness is a result of not being able to help the body use its full potential. If you want to keep yourself energized without getting fat, eat carbohydrate rich foods that are wheat based like wheat bread, cereals and wholemeal pasta. Good sources of potassium without the extra fat include bananas, oranges and cantaloupe. Sugar is a little more dangerous to eat in excess. You may however get a healthy dose of sugar not from fattening pastries but from fruits like grapes and watermelon.
Detoxification
Detoxification plans that have been specially formulated by experts involve staying away from certain foods for a period of time. Some of these foods to avoid include meat and oil. During the period of detoxification an individual will be asked to eat fruits and vegetables like broccoli, beans, garlic and green leafy vegetables. Yesterday, you had your first look at fat trappers and the basic concept surrounding fat trapping. This time let’s take a look at what a good, natural fat trapper should contain and what we need to remember should we choose to use a fat trapper.
Fiber
There are many different kinds and sources of fiber. We all know that fiber is the number one factor that promotes proper digestion and a clean intestine. We usually get them naturally through fruits and vegetables. It may sometimes be difficult however, due to our hectic lifestyles to always have fruits and vegetables in tow.
Supplements therefore can offer the additional fiber that our bodies need for proper digestion.
Fat tapping pills are examples of supplements that contain fiber. In these pills, fiber has the additional function of trapping stubborn fat and eliminating them. The fiber in some of these fat trapping pills additionally contributes to a feeling of appetite satisfaction, thus discouraging over eating.
Since fiber is a natural substance found in nature, some products with fiber do not disturb the body”s natural processes.
Caution
Taking fat trapping pills should be an informed choice. Remember that some individuals are allergic to some kinds of fiber. Be certain that you do not have allergic reactions to any of the ingredients of fat trappers.
You should also take careful note of warnings from the US Food and Drug Administration. Fat trappers are not drugs and should contain a disclaimer that specifies that it is not a cure or a type of preventive medication for any disease.

Maintaining proper diet and regular exercise are among the top solutions to eliminating unwanted body fat. There are times though that our food options just do not allow us to completely avoid fat. A lot of good food these days may contain fat. There are also some of us who ultimately get tempted by a little fatty or sweet treat. In these situations, how can we stop our bodies from retaining fat?
Fat Trappers
Thankfully there are now products out in the market that will allow us to enjoy an occasional food treat or two. These products are what are known as fat trappers. The basic claim of major fat trapper products revolve around trapping fat from food, eliminating fat and maintaining a healthy cholesterol level. A lot of these products are also good sources of fiber.
How They Work
Fat trappers are usually in the form of pills and work by first trapping the fat in the intestine even before the fat is digested and absorbed by the body. Their trapping mechanism is assisted by emulsifiers in the product that break down the fat for easier trapping. Once the fat molecules are trapped or bound, they are solidified and eliminated as body waste.
Some fat grabber pills have complex chemical compositions that make their function possible. In some cases however, these artificial fat trappers may cause side effects such as diarrhea. Some fat trappers also end up grabbing some of your body’s nutrients too. Natural fat trappers however, usually contain natural ingredients that are already proven dietary fat fighters. What are these natural ingredients?

Looking younger and living longer are not just signs of vanity. They are also signs of good health. Aging however is unfortunately a result of both genetic and environmental factors. We may not be able to do anything to stop aging by manipulating our genetic make-up. We may however, be able to slow down aging by controlling our environment through our lifestyles. How do we do it?
Antioxidants
Burning oxygen or oxidation is a normal metabolic process in our bodies. The process however creates molecules called free radicals with lone electrons. These electrons steal the electrons of cells in the body and continue to produce even more free radicals. Lifestyle activities like smoking and excessive drinking eventually speed up free radical production. The result is body damage which may take the form of cancer, heart disease, skin aging and muscular degeneration. The answer to stop free radical damage is to introduce antioxidants into your environment or lifestyle.
Antioxidants are actually molecules that freely offer themselves to free radicals in the place of body cells. These antioxidants however are very stable and therefore do not produce more free radicals after binding. Where can we get antioxidants?
Fruits and Vegetables
There are numerous foods that are good for the health. Fruits and vegetables however should be eaten in greater amounts. This is because this particular food group contains numerous antioxidants that can fight the cell damaging effects of free radicals. Vitamins A, C and E in particular are top antioxidants that prevent the fast degeneration of muscles and tissues due to oxidation.
Vitamin A can be found in carrots and tomatoes. Vitamin C is present in oranges and broccoli. Vitamin E rich foods include nuts and fish. Other antioxidant rich foods include red beans, blueberries, cranberries, artichoke, dried plums, raspberries, red apples, pecans, green and red peppers.
Aside from introducing antioxidants into our diet there are other ways to slow down the aging process.

We’ve considered the benefits that we can get from chocolate and alcohol. Aside from these two, coffee and tea may also have their own hidden benefits.
Coffee
We all know that drinking coffee can help us keep an elevated mood and keeps us alert. Studies suggest though that drinking a few cups of coffee a day can also help lower the risk of a variety of illnesses including type 2 diabetes, liver damage and colon cancer. Further studies are needed to conclude that coffee may even potentially reduce Parkinson’s disease. One should always remember the rule of moderation though since excessive amounts of coffee can increase blood pressure and heart rate.
Tea
Tea is perhaps the least controversial of all the food items mentioned because it has been a popular beverage for centuries. There are many different tea types, most of which have their own health benefits. Green tea however, is considered as one of the best types to take for the health. Most of us have grown up with some advice about what to eat and what not to eat. Some pieces of advice should really be followed. There are however some common foods that we have been warned against that may actually be beneficial to us in the right amount.
Chocolate
Flavanol is a known antioxidant that can reduce the risk of heart disease and cancer. Researchers claim that it is present in chocolate. Flavonols can assist the body in processing nitric oxide which is necessary in keeping the right blood pressure and proper blood flow. Flavonols can also stop the oxidizing and clogging effects of fats in arteries. Studies show that a single serving of cocoa may contain more flavonols than either green tea or red wine.
Some kinds of chocolates however are better than others. Dark chocolate generally contains more flavonols than milk chocolate. Highly processed chocolate products may also contain fewer benefits since processing destroys part of the cacao beans’ flavanol content. Some chocolate product manufacturers are in the process of discovering methods to preserve the benefits of cacao.
Alcohol
Excessive drinking of alcohol can cause liver damage, cancer and gastrointestinal problems to name a few. Taking alcoholic drinks in moderation however can help reduce the risk of coronary heart disease and high blood pressure. It can also help boost the lipid profile. Red wine in particular contains Resveratrol which is actually an antioxidant that can help prevent internal blood clots from forming and blocking the blood vessels. Drinking in moderation is of course, subject to personal interpretation. Drinking one standard glass of alcohol every other day however may be deemed moderate.
Aside from chocolate and alcohol, what other food items have hidden benefits? Stay tuned…
